The Sun gets it right, for once

April 16, 2010

Kudos to the Sun from this Republican reader for publishing last Monday two of the most telling articles I've seen in a long time: Ed Goodpaster's not totally tongue-in-cheek article about trying term limits for Washington reporters even if Congress is unlikely to apply such limits to itself ("Let's try term limits — for Washington reporters," April 12); and Madeleine Gruen's deadly serious, accurate article about how domestic extremist groups of all stripes are increasingly targeting law enforcement ("Police officers under fire," April 12). Without a doubt, both articles hit the nail squarely on the head.

My kudos also for your supporting Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III editorially that very same day in his efforts to revamp and improve Comstat ("Building a better Comstat," April 12); it was a fitting follow-up to the excellent front-page profile you did three days earlier.
