Spalding's Weiman throws 4th no-hitter

Right-hander Emily Weiman (10-1) pitched seven innings and struck out 17 in her fourth no-hitter this season as visiting No. 2 Archbishop Spalding beat St. Vincent Pallotti, 1-0, Wednesday.

Bailey Rouk singled in the only run for Spalding (10-1) in the second inning.

Weiman walked one batter.

No. 1 Chesapeake-AA 16, Annapolis 1: Nikki Mantheiy (4-0) pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 10 for the visiting Cougars (8-1) in their win over the Panthers (0-6).

No. 8 Arundel 4, North County 1: Right-hander Kayla Martinez gave up one-run on nine hits and one walk, striking out 11 as the host Wildcats (2-4) beat the Knights.


No. 1 C. Milton Wright 3, Huntingtown (Calvert) 2: Right-hander Bobby Ruse (3-0) pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits and %striking out seven batters, as the visiting Mustangs (8-0) defeated the Hurricanes (7-2).

Reservoir 6, No. 14 River Hill 3: Left-hander Ben Cameron pitched 5 1/3 innings and had a no-hit bid going into the fifth inning as the host Gators (6-2) upset the Hawks (4-3).

Boys lacrosse

John Carroll 12, No. 15 Friends 7: Ricky Dimicco had three goals and three assists to power the host Patriots (5-1) to an upset win over the Quakers (4-4).

Girls lacrosse

No. 15 Severn 10, No. 9 St. Mary's 9, 2OT: Bridget Brown scored the game-winner 1:30 into the sudden-death overtime as the host Admirals (7-4) upset the Saints (7-3).
