April 12, 2010

Police were investigating several shootings Sunday, including three unrelated shootings that occurred within three hours early Sunday, an early-morning homicide on the west side and a late-night shooting near Green Mount Cemetery. In one shooting, a man was wounded in the lower back near the emergency-room entrance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center just west of downtown about 3 a.m. Police were also investigating nonfatal shootings that occurred shortly after midnight. One was at Frederick Ave. and Monastery St. in Southwest Baltimore, near Loudon Park Cemetery, where a man was wounded in the left thigh. The other occurred in the 3000 block of Mayfield Ave. in Northeast Baltimore, near Clifton Park, where a man was shot in the left foot. An adult male, the apparent victim of a shooting, was found dead about 8:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Denmore Ave. Homicide detectives were called to the scene where a man severely injured in a shooting was found at E. North Ave. and Aisquith St. about 10:30 p.m.
