BOATING/PADDLING
Next Sunday Guided kayak/canoe ride along Patapsco River, noon-3 p.m. Meet in Oella parking lot behind Trolley Stop Restaurant across the Ellicott City Bridge. Some Level 2 rapids and a dam to walk around. Rain or shine. Bring your own kayak or canoe. No rentals available. Pack a lunch and water shoes. For questions: tbetts@AACPS.org. Wednesday Learn about bird songs, feathers, eggs and nests plus lots of hands-on activities and a hike to spot some feathered friends, 10:30 a.m. Meet at Patapsco Valley State Park's Hilton Nature Center, 1101 Hilton Ave., Catonsville. Family program for ages 2 and up. To register: 410-461-5005.

Saturday Spring Fishing Rodeo, sponsored by Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, Patterson Park Boat Lake, Eastern Avenue and Milton Avenue, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. For ages 15 and under. Free. Door prizes and awards. Bring your own rod and reel; a limited number of rod and reels will be available. Bait provided. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Monday Capt. Mark Galasso will discuss fishing the Bay Bridge-Tunnel at the 19th-anniversary meeting of the Pasadena Sportfishing Group, Earleigh Heights Fire Hall, Ritchie Highway and Magothy Bridge Road, Severna Park. Free. Everyone in attendance will receive a gift and free cake, coffee and soda. Doors open at 6 p.m.; meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Dinner and refreshments are available for purchase.
