Baltimore police are investigating three unrelated shootings that occurred within three hours early Sunday, including one in which a man was wounded in the lower back near the emergency room entrance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center just west of downtown.

That shooting occurred about 3 a.m. in the 700 block of West Baltimore St., near the University of Maryland at Baltimore campus and the dental school. Police had few details but said the man's injuries were not life threatening.

Police were also investigating nonfatal shootings that occurred shortly after midnight. One was at Frederick Avenue and Monastery Street in Southwest Baltimore, near Loudon Park Cemetery, where a man was wounded in the left thigh. The other occurred in the 3000 block of Mayfield Ave. in Northeast Baltimore, near Clifton Park, where a man was shot in the left foot.

Authorities on Sunday had no other information about the shootings. Detectives also were still looking for two men in Saturday afternoon's fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man on East 33rd Street and Greenmount Avenue in Waverly.
