It's International Dark Sky Week. Do you know where your "off" switch is? Launched in 2003 by a high-school student determined to raise public awareness about light pollution, IDSW has since gone international. Turn off unneeded outdoor lights. Then replace, redirect or shield the rest so they shine only where and when they're needed. It saves money, benefits the environment, and lets the stars shine through.
