"Springtime In the Park" runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (except for April 9, when the park will be closed to the public) and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays through April 11. On those same days, Hershey's Chocolate World will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 4, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 11. Getting there
Driving: Take Interstate 83, the Harrisburg Expressway, north from I-695 just under 70 miles to U.S. 322 east (exit 46B). Then drive about 7 miles, following the signs to Hersheypark. (You'll know you're in the town of Hershey if the streetlight shades are shaped like Hershey's Kisses.) The trip should take 90 minutes to two hours.

Bus: Limited early-morning bus service is available, leaving from the Greyhound downtown bus terminal on Haines Street and connecting through Harrisburg, Pa. The trip takes a minimum of just under four hours and costs $91.50 round-trip. Check greyhound.com for details.

Dining/lodging
Food is available throughout the park; special breakfasts, where visitors can dine alongside living Hershey's candy bars (you may be horrified, but here's betting the kids will love it) are available at the park's full-service restaurant, The Tudor Grill (717-534-3821), at 10 a.m. Check out hersheypark.com for more details and food listings.

Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, which owns and operates the park, runs two area hotels. The Hershey Lodge (325 University Drive, 717-533-3311) offers 655 guest rooms, while the 77-year-old and more upscale Hotel Hershey (100 Hotel Road, 717-533-2171) offers 278 guest rooms.

Other area attractions:

The Hershey Story (63 W. Chocolate Ave., 717-534-3439) is a museum exploring the life and legacy of Milton S. Hershey; Hershey Gardens (170 Hotel Road, 717-534-3492) offers 23 acres of seasonal displays; Giant Center (550 W. Hersheypark Drive, 717-534-3911) is home to the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears, whose home season wraps Sunday vs. Norfolk.
