Defensive tackle Ngata next in line to get big extension

Haloti Ngata is expected to receive the next big-money contract extension from the Ravens. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle will earn $996,250 this season, the final year of his rookie contract. "I don't want to speak out of turn, but nobody would disagree with the fact that Haloti Ngata is a guy that we have every intention of making a Raven forever," coach John Harbaugh said at the NFL annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., this week. "In this league, nothing is certain, obviously, but I know Haloti wants to be a Raven and I know he wants to do a long-term contract just as soon as he possibly can." Harbaugh added: "There are some rules that make it a little bit tough this year. I'm still hopeful it can get done. If not this year, next year."
