Boys lacrosse: By the numbers

1 Margin of victory for Class 2A-1A state champion Pikesville in both state tournament games last year. After knocking off defending champion Glenelg, 8-7, in the semifinals, the Panthers beat Queen Anne's, 6-5, for the program's third state crown.

2 Divisions in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference this season. The Red Division will consist of Calvert Hall, Loyola, McDonogh, St. Paul's and Severn, while the Black Division has Archbishop Spalding, Boys' Latin, Gilman, Mount St. Joseph and St. Mary's.

117 Goals scored by Boys' Latin's returning attackmen last season. Patrick Foster (51 goals), Wells Stanwick (32), Ryan Jarvis (18) and Kevin O'Neil (16) give the No. 1 Lakers the most potent attack in the area.

120 Goals from All-Metro players lost to graduation by defending MIAA A Conference champion Gilman. All-Metro Player of the year Jack Doyle (31 goals), first-team selections Marcus Holman (39) and Greg McBride (20), and second-team pick Davey Emala (30) are now doing their scoring in the NCAA Division I ranks.
