Bitter's late goal leads UNC men past Princeton

Billy Bitter scored the go-ahead goal with three minutes left in the fourth quarter to lead host No. 3 North Carolina past No. 4 Princeton, 12-11, on Tuesday.

The Tar Heels (7-0) led 10-5 late in the third quarter, but the Tigers (4-1) scored five unanswered goals.

No. 1 Virginia 18, Vermont 7: Brian Carroll led the host Cavaliers (7-0) with five goals, and Chris Bocklet added four more.

No. 7 Notre Dame 14, Denver 7: Grant Krebs (St. Mary's), Sean Rogers and Zach Brenneman each had three goals for the Fighting Irish (4-2).

Mount St. Mary's 19, Robert Morris 13: Eric Ososki scored a career-best six goals, leading the visiting Mountaineers (1-2) past the host Colonials (5-1).

McDaniel 10, Colorado College 9: DJ Rickels (Boys' Latin), William Clary (Catonsville) and Gibbs Preston (McDonogh) led the Green Terror (3-3) with two goals each as it outlasted the host Tigers (2-1).

Goucher 12, New England 6: John Curry and Matt Lynch had three goals apiece as the host Gophers (4-2) cruised past the Nor'easters (0-4).


No. 18 Loyola 18, Rutgers 6: Mary Heneberry scored three goals as the Greyhounds (5-3) won their first game at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
