Maryland senior guard Greivis Vasquez is one of 26 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, the award committee and Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Monday. Vasquez, the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and a first team All-America selection by Sporting News and FoxSports.com, is one of five players on the final ballot who weren't on the Wooden Award Midseason Top 30, joining Kentucky's DeMarcus Cousins, Marquette's Lazar Hayward, South Florida's Dominique Jones and California's Jerome Randle. The Big East has the most balloted players, with seven; the ACC and Big 12 had four. The winner will be announced April 9.
