Volunteer firefighters suspended in Rockville

March 14, 2010

Twelve volunteer firefighters from Rockville have been suspended after breaking into two buildings. Montgomery County officials said on Friday night three 17-year-old volunteer firefighters were arrested after breaking into a fire department warehouse. Rockville Police Maj. Bob Rappoport said it appears they were planning to leave with equipment. On Thursday night nine volunteer firefighters entered the community room of an apartment complex, apparently to play pool or table tennis. All 12 have been suspended until an investigation is conducted.
