State roundup: UMES men, Morgan, Towson women lose

South Carolina State's men's basketball team rallied from a seven-point deficit to beat UMES, 59-53, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Jason Flagler had 20 points and the Bulldogs (17-13) outscored the Hawks (11-21) by 13 in the second half.

Hillary Haley had 13 points for UMES.

Women
Bethune-Cookman 63, Morgan State 52: In her last college game, Corin Adams scored 23 of her game-high 25 points in the second half but the Bears (17-13) fell to the Wildcats (17-14) in the MEAC quarterfinals.

Adams, who is the school's all-time scoring leader with 2,058 points, also added a game-high six steals, five rebounds, an assist and a block.

UNC-Wilmington 50, Towson 30: Shanae Baker-Brice had 11 points in her last game as the Tigers (15-15) lost in the opening round of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Seahawks (12-18) outscored Towson 20-13 in the first half.
