This year's Baltimore Running Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16, one week later than usual, race organizers said at a news conference today. The event was delayed to avoid a conflict with a national medical convention being held in the city on Oct. 9.

The festival, which features a marathon, half-marathon, 5K and other races, is expected to draw a record 22,000 runners, organizers said. This year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event, they've planned a concert at the Pier Six Pavilion the night before the races.

For the first time ever, no changes in the marathon route are anticipated. Also, runners will be allowed to use iPods this year.
