Baltimore County police said they have arrested four people in connection with last week's shooting death of the owner of a Hess gas station on East Joppa Road.

Lt. Robert McCullough, a county police spokesman, said officials would not release the names of those arrested Saturday because "we don't want to compromise" an ongoing investigation. Officials were in the process of charging those alleged to be involved.

More details about those arrested were to be disclosed during a news conference Monday, McCullough said.

WJZ-TV, the Baltimore Sun's media partner, reported Saturday night that one of the people arrested was Porter's wife. Baltimore County police did not immediately confirm that Porter's wife, Karla Porter, had been arrested.

William Ray Porter was shot Monday inside the gas station he owned for 15 years, and died the next day. Police said at the time that they considered the shooting to have occurred during a robbery attempt.
