No. 10 Old Mill, No. 11 Dunbar win

No. 10 Old Mill boys basketball team stretched its lead in the third quarter and withstood a late rally by North Point in a Class 4A East regional semifinal to win, 88-83, Thursday night.

The Patriots (19-3) maintained a two-point lead in the first half before outscoring the Eagles 23-15 in the third quarter. North Point cut that lead to three with 30 seconds left in the game, but Old Mill's Marvin Salmond stole the ball and hit a layup with 20 seconds left to seal the win.

Mike Holley had a game-high 25 points for the Patriots. Chris Day and Eric Savage added 19 each for Old Mill, which hosts Great Mills in Saturday's regional championship at 3 p.m.

No. 11 Dunbar 90, Walbrook 53: Roderick Camphor and Aaron Parks each scored 18 points and Derrell Edwards had 17 to power the host Poets (17-5) past the Warriors in Class 1A South.

Dunbar led 16-10 after the first quarter before stretching the lead out to 43-19 at the half. The Poets host Surrattsville on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Atholton 46, Centennial 41: Matt Robinson scored 21 points to lead the host Raiders (10-12) past the Eagles in Class 3A East.

Atholton led 34-31 at the end of the third quarter before falling behind in the fourth quarter by five points, then rallying to win.

Atholton travels to Stephen Decatur on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Owings Mills 66, Havre de Grace 60: The Eagles (18-6) made six 3-pointers and committed no fouls until five minutes left in the game against the Warriors (18-5) in Class 1A North.

Havre de Grace led at halftime before Owings Mills rallied. Malcolm Thomas had 16 points and Bruce Jones and 12 for the Eagles, who travel to Pikesville on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Pikesville 55, New Town 41: Devohn Gilmore led all scorers with 29 points as the top-seeded Panthers (20-3) beat the Titans in Class 1A North.

Pikesville led by 20 points before New Town cut the lead to nine in the third quarter. Pikesville hosts Owings Mills on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the regional final.
