Centennial upsets No. 5 River Hill, 48-41

No. 9 City routs Lansdowne

Centennial's girls basketball team took the lead at the half and made its free throws down the stretch to upset No. 5 River Hill, 48-41, Wednesday, in a Class 3A East regional semifinal.

Michelle Klima led the Eagles (16-5) with 14 points. Alex Vega had 14 points and Chantrel Oliver 13 points for the Hawks (19-3).

Centennial hosts Mount Hebron, a 70-59 winner over J.M. Bennett, in Friday's regional championship at 7 p.m.

No. 9 City 68, Lansdowne 27: LaShay Taft had a game-high 22 points to power the host Knights (20-4) past the Vikings in Class 2A North.

The Knights (20-4) face host No. 4 Digital Harbor, a 54-32 winner over Dundalk, in Friday's regional championship.

No. 8 Meade 69, Old Mill 44: Imani Bailey scored a game-high 28 points to lift the host Mustangs (22-1) over the Patriots in Class 4A East.

The Mustangs host Arundel in Friday's regional championship at 6:30 p.m.

No. 13 Joppatowne 65, Harford Tech 37: Shakara Head had 20 points and Brittany Thornton added 14 as the host Mariners (24-2) beat the Cobras in Class 1A North.

Joppatowne hosts Carver A&T on Friday at 6:45 p.m.

Fallston 55, Edgewood 34: Lindsay Garnett scored 14 points to lead the host Cougars past the Rams in Class 2A East.

Fallston, last year's 3A state champion, travels to North Caroline on Friday at 7 p.m.
