Towson gas station owner dies of wounds in shooting

The owner of a Towson gas station died Tuesday morning after he was shot several times the day before during an apparent robbery attempt, a Baltimore County police spokesman said. William Raymond Porter, 49, was shot about 7:25 a.m. Monday at a Hess station in the 1600 block of E. Joppa Road. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, said Cpl. Mike Hill. No arrests had been made.
