M&T Bank Stadium to host Navy vs. Ohio State in 2014

February 28, 2010|By Sports Digest

Navy and Ohio State will open their 2014 football seasons with a game at M&T Bank Stadium. The game, held Aug. 30, will be a rematch of this past season's opener, when the host Buckeyes held off the Midshipmen, 31-27. This time, Navy will be the host team. The stadium, where the Ravens play their home games, seats 71,000. A Navy team spokesman confirmed the game site, which was first reported by the Baltimore Business Journal. The Midshipmen have played Army, Notre Dame and Maryland at M&T Bank Stadium, and the games have sold out each time, stadium officials said. "We don't even think about going up the street [to Baltimore] if we can't sell it out," Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk told Business First of Columbus, adding that the Army-Navy game in December 2014 will also be played in Baltimore. Navy and Maryland will open their 2010 seasons Sept. 6 by playing at M&T Bank Stadium.
