Doves roll, 81-21, in first round of 3A North playoffs

Jannah Tucker and Tenicia Spence each scored 13 points to lead four Doves in double figures as the No. 8 Western basketball team beat host Towson, 81-21, in the opening round of the Class 3A North regional playoffs Friday.

The Doves' defense limited the Generals to nine field goals.

Western plays the Parkville-North Harford winner in Tuesday's quarterfinals.

Severna Park 48, Great Mills 45: Maddi Keating and Christina Choi each had 11 points to lead the visiting Falcons (9-11) past the Hornets (11-9) in Class 4A East.

Severna Park faces Old Mill at 7 p.m. Monday

Old Mill 51, Broadneck 44: Kourtney Salisbury had 16 points to power the host Patriots (14-2) past the Bruins (7-11) in Class 4A East.

Manchester Valley 63, Clear Spring 41: Abby Dach and Kristen Cannon led the Mavericks (6-16) with 14 points each. Manchester Valley faces Smithsburg in Monday's quarterfinal.


Randallstown 67, Eastern Tech 46: Dijion Hawkins had 14 points to lead the host Rams (17-7) past the Mavericks in Class 2A North.

Randallstown faces host City at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

CHEN 66, Grace Brethren 58: Justin Simonton and Jeff Wehberg combined to score 44 points, 22 each, to power CHEN in the Maryland Christian Schools Tournament semifinal.

CHEN faces Lanham Christian in today's championship at 3 p.m. at Washington Bible College.
