Man shot during attempted carjacking in North Baltimore

A man was shot during an attempted carjacking in North Baltimore early Friday morning, according to Baltimore Police.

Based on preliminary reports, a 23-year-old driving in the 4500 block of Northwood Drive in the New Northwood neighborhood at 2:36 a.m. was shot in the lower abdomen, said city police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital in critical condition, police said. No further information was available.
