Stoothoff helps Loyola women hold off UMBC, 7-4

Kerry Stoothoff made a career-high 16 saves as the No. 11 Loyola women defeated host UMBC, 7-4. Grace Gavin and Caroline Hager led the Greyhounds with two goals apiece.

Women's honors: Maryland senior midfielder Caitlyn McFadden (Notre Dame Prep) was named ACC women's lacrosse Player of the Week. ... Loyola senior midfielder Emily Gibson was selected as the Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week, and sophomore Stoothoff has been named the WomensLacrosse.com Defensive Player of the Week. ... Four Navy players were honored by the Patriot League: senior attacker Erin Rawlick (C.
