Salerno leads Mt. St. Mary's in rout of Howard, 21-1

Alexis Salerno scored three of the first five goals to power host Mount St. Mary's past Howard, 21-1, in nonconference action. Salerno, who came into the game with six career goals, scored the first two goals of the game in the first 98 seconds for the Mount (1-1) and added two goals in the first half to finish with a career-high four.

Honors: UMBC junior midfielder Amanda Pappas (Chesapeake-Anne Arundel) and freshman midfielder Kerianne Allen (Mount Hebron) were named America East Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Pappas scored a career-high seven goals in a 16-8 win at George Mason. ... Loyola senior midfielder Emily Gibson (North Harford) was named WomensLax.com Player of the Week after scoring a career-high five goals and adding an assist in an upset win at Virginia. ... Syracuse senior midfielder Christina Dove (Bel Air) was named Big East Offensive Player of the Week after scoring nine goals in two wins.
