Memoir writing The course will be held 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Arnold Senior Activity Center, 44 Church Road. The class will teach participants how to write an autobiography.

There will also be an opportunity to learn listening and interviewing skills, writing tips and proofreading skills. Call 410-222-1922 to sign up or for more information.

Spring classes Registration is taking place for classes that start April 5 at the Arnold Senior Activity Center. Registration ends after the class meets for two weeks. There is a $40 fee for all students. Students older than 60 do not pay a per-class fee. Those younger than 60 pay a $40 per-class fee. Call 410-222-1922 or go to

Volunteer grandparents sought The Foster Grandparents Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities is seeking volunteer grandparents to help mentor children with special needs. Volunteers serve 15 to 40 hours a week, providing mentoring, tutoring, advice and attention, and teaching life skills to children in special education classes, staffing a homeless shelter, a family support center and other agencies. Activities may include reading stories, listening, helping them feed themselves, setting the table, working with puzzles and helping the children learn colors, numbers and the alphabet.
