Police say Moon was driving a Honda CRX on Route 32 near Nixon's Farm Lane in West Friendship about 6:45 a.m., crossed a double yellow line and collided head-on with a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Its driver, Gilbert L. Trowbridge II, 54, of Laurel was pronounced dead at the scene. Moon was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition. Moon was charged with negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle, negligent homicide by motor vehicle while driving under the influence and negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle while impaired. Witnesses told police that Moon's car passed another vehicle on the shoulder, then swerved across the center line.
