Three Baltimore natives have been selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic all-star basketball game.
Lake Clifton point guard Josh Selby, Brewster (N.H.) Academy small forward Will Barton and Oak Hill (Va.) Academy forward Roscoe Smith were all chosen to participate, Jordan Brand -- a division of Nike -- announced Thursday. The game is scheduled for April 17 at 8 p.m. at Madison Square Garden in New York. It will be televised live on ESPN2.
Selby, the No. 7 senior in the country according to ESPN.com, has led the No. 5 Lakers to a 12-3 record in his senior season. He averages more than 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game. Selby is considering scholarship offers from Arizona, Connecticut, Kansas and Kentucky.
Barton, ESPN.com's No. 6 player nationally, led Lake Clifton to the Class 3A state title last year. He was named The Baltimore Sun's All-Metro Player of the Year. Barton, who has signed with Memphis, is spending his fifth year of high school at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.
Smith, ranked the No. 29 senior by ESPN, was a two-time All-Metro selection at Walbrook. Smith, who transferred to Oak Hill for his senior season, has committed to UConn.
