Presidents Day at Mount Vernon Estate

Where: George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Mount Vernon, Va.

When: Monday Feb.16

What: Historic Mount Vernon celebrates George Washington's 278th birthday with music, re-enactors and festivities.

Note: Some outdoor activities may be scaled back because of last week's snowstorm.

How much: Free admission to the estate on Monday only. Otherwise, $15 for adults, $7 for youths ages 6-11, and free for children under 5.

What's nearby: The charming Mount Vernon Inn restaurant serves lunch daily and elegant candlelit dinners Monday through Saturday. The inn offers six intimate dining rooms, two with fireplaces, all with Colonial charm, Colonial servers, and regional and Colonial cuisine.
