'Babe's Birthday Bash' rescheduled because of weather

Event will be Feb. 19 at Sports Legends Museum

The Babe Ruth Museum today announced that it is again postponing "Babe's Birthday Bash" until Feb. 19 because of the weather.

"It's unfortunate to have to now push the event back for a second consecutive week, but considering the snow that is blanketing our area it is the right decision," said Mike Gibbons, the museum's executive director. "With the new storm only adding to the tremendous snow received last weekend, our thoughts continue to center on the safety of our guests and we do not want anyone to put themselves at risk."

The event to celebrate the 115th anniversary of Ruth's birth in Baltimore will still be held at Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and take place from 5:30 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Anyone unable to attend the event on Feb. 19 is encouraged to contact the museum at 410-727-1539. Visit www.BabeRuthMuseum.com for updates.

The museum has also moved activities from the Babe Ruth Birthplace this Saturday to Feb. 20. On that day, the museum will show rare Babe Ruth movies at the birthplace from noon until closing in honor of Ruth's birthday. Admission to the birthplace will be $3, for Ruth's playing number.
