Closings, cancellations for Friday, Saturday

•The ticket center for the National Aquarium in Baltimore will close at 2 p.m. today. Visitors may tour the building for 90 minutes after the ticket center closes. The last dolphin show of the day will be at 1:30 p.m. Fridays After Five and all other evening events are canceled. The aquarium will be closed Saturday. All associated programs and events are canceled.

•The Enoch Pratt Free Library's Booklovers' Breakfast featuring author and actor Hill Harper, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, has been canceled. A new date will be announced soon.

•The Maryland Science Center will be closed today.

•A Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower Open Studio Day scheduled for Saturday is canceled. The event takes place next month, as scheduled, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. March 6.

•First Fridays at the Walters Art Museum has been canceled for today. Brazilian-themed performers will be rescheduled for a future First Fridays. Additionally, ArtKids Preschool: Zomo the Rabbit on Saturday is canceled, and the Family Fun morning donor event has been canceled for Saturday and is rescheduled for March 6.

•Babe's Birthday Bash at the Babe Ruth Museum is postponed from today to Feb. 12. Additionally, the Babe Ruth Museum has moved activities from the Babe Ruth Birthplace on Saturday to Feb. 13. On that day, the museum will show rare Babe Ruth movies at the birthplace from noon until closing in honor of Ruth's birthday.

•The men's basketball game between Towson and James Madison scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until 7 p.m. Monday at the Towson Center.

•The "Luck Be a Lady" concert set for 8 p.m. today at the Music Center at Strathmore has been canceled. The concert has been rescheduled for Feb. 19. The Gato & the Palenke Music Co. concert is postponed until Friday, April 9, at 9 p.m. The entire Strathmore campus will be closed Saturday and Sunday. This includes all education classes and performances in the Music Center and Mansion.

•"My Favorite Things: Song Cycles by Great Composers" at Towson University Center for the Arts is rescheduled for Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. All events are canceled if the university is closed.

•Anne Arundel County public schools said Thursday there will be a systemwide two-hour early dismissal today; afternoon half-day prekindergarten is canceled. Carroll County public schools said Thursday there will be a systemwide, 2 hour and 45 minute early dismissal for middle and high schools today. Elementary schools were already scheduled to have an early dismissal for professional time for teachers. Howard County said public schools will close three hours early today.

•The Maryland Transit Administration announced early return trips for this afternoon for many of its commuter buses departing Baltimore and Washington. Many buses will be leaving three hours early.
