Navy women top Holy Cross behind Gordon's 20 points

K.C. Gordon scored a game-high 20 points to power the host Navy women past Holy Cross, 75-60. The game was tied twice in the first six minutes, but the Midshipmen (10-9, 2-2 Patriot League) never trailed. Whitney Fremeau led the Crusaders (5-14, 1-3) with 15 points.

More women's basketball: JaQuelia Conley (13 points) hit the game-winner with 35 seconds left to lift host Stevenson over Salisbury, 55-53. Janay Johnson made two free throws to tie the game at 53 with 1:02 remaining for the Sea Gulls (5-10, 2-6 Capital Athletic Conference). Stevenson (4-9, 2-4) has won four of seven. ... Chantel Mattiola hit the game-winning layup with 17 seconds left to lift visiting Johns Hopkins past Washington College, 66-61. The Blue Jays improved to 8-7 overall and 6-5 in the conference; the Shorewomen fell to 6-10 and 4-7. ... Ashley Lyles (St. Vincent Pallotti) made two free throws with 4.8 seconds left to finish with 12 points and lead McDaniel past host Gettysburg, 51-48. Katelyn Fischer (Seton Keough) paced the Green Terror (11-4, 10-2 Centennial Conference) with 13 points, leading the squad to its 11th consecutive win. Courtney Fields scored 20 for the Bullets (13-2, 8-2). ... Jamie Roberts scored 18 to lead visiting St. Mary's past Hood, 66-38. The Seahawks (5-11, 4-4 CAC) have won three straight. The Blazers fell to 3-12, 0-8.

Men's basketball: Andrew Farber-Miller had a game-high 22 points in a losing effort as visiting Johns Hopkins fell to Washington College, 68-48. The Shoremen (8-5, 6-3 Centennial) - led by Andrew Chambers with 20 points - shot 62 percent from the field in the second half and outscored Hopkins 45-24 in the final 20 minutes. ... Camontae Griffin led all scorers with 17 points as visiting St. Mary's beat Hood, 65-54. The Seahawks (14-2, 7-1 CAC) outscored the Blazers (11-6, 6-2) 10-2 over the first 2:57. Hood answered with a 9-0 run. St. Mary's put together an 11-0 run to retake the lead and never trailed in the second half. Tyler Snoots had 14 points for Hood. ... Chris McGrew had 23 points and visiting Salisbury recorded its first back-to-back wins since December '09 with a 69-61 decision over Stevenson. The Sea Gulls (8-8, 4-4) beat Mary Washington, 80-71, Monday. Salisbury opened with a 15-2 scoring run. Clifton Jones had 16 points for the Mustangs (1-16, 1-7). ... Host Gettysburg held McDaniel to 17 points in the second half and won 62-37. Kevin Kennedy had 19 points for the Bullets (9-6, 7-2 Centennial) and Woody Butler had seven for the Green Terror (7-8, 3-5).

Swimming: Johns Hopkins senior John Thomas was named Division III National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week.
