Nationals, Willingham agree at $4.6 million for 2010

Outfielder Josh Willingham agreed to a $4.6 million contract for 2010 with the Washington Nationals, who also avoided salary arbitration with three other players. Catchers Jesus Flores and Wil Nieves and right-hander Jason Bergmann agreed to one-year deals with Washington on Tuesday, the day players and teams submitted figures for arbitration. Flores and Bergmann got salaries of $750,000; Nieves agreed to a $700,000 deal.

Redskins: Guard Chad Rinehart was arrested Monday on public intoxication charges in Iowa after he pulled on a locked door at a pizza restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa .

Capitals: Left wing Alex Ovechkin was named the NHL's First Star of the Week after he led all scorers with 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and helped Washington (30-12-6) move into first place in the Eastern Conference by winning three of its four games.
