Memoir writing Course will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Arnold Senior Activity Center, 44 Church Road. Class will teach participants how to write their autobiography through various methods. There will also be an opportunity to learn listening and interviewing skills, writing tips and proofreading skills. Call 410-222-1922 to sign up or for more information.

Volunteer grandparents sought The Foster Grandparents Program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities is seeking volunteer grandparents to help mentor children with special needs. Volunteers serve between 15 and 40 hours a week, providing mentoring, tutoring, advice and attention, and teaching life skills to children in special education classes, a homeless shelter, a family support center and other agencies. Activities may include reading stories, listening, helping them feed themselves, setting the table, working with puzzles and helping the children learn colors, numbers and the alphabet.

Volunteers must be income-eligible and at least 60 years old. Benefits include a tax-free stipend, paid training, vacation, sick leave, free transportation, lunch and a physical exam. Information: 410-222-4464.
