December 22, 2009

Anne Arundel County police are investigating the apparent fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man found early Monday on a street near Laurel. Jamal Medina, 22, of an apartment in the 200 block of Red Clay Road, was found on Red Clay Road near Route 198. "It appears to be a homicide," said Justin Mulcahy, police spokesman. Police have no suspect and knew of no motive. A caller to 911 reported seeing a man collapse in the road about 1:45 a.m. Fire Department officials said the victim was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was in cardiac arrest when rescue workers arrived. He was pronounced dead at Laurel Regional Hospital. An autopsy was to be performed.
