Simulcasting at Laurel, Pimlico to be closed today

Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course will be closed for simulcasting today because of inclement weather.

Men's basketball: Mount St. Mary's (3-7) lost, 66-48, to host Pittsburgh (9-2) in a nonconference game. Mount seniors Jeremy Goode and Kelly Beidler each scored 11 points. The Mountaineers cut the deficit to 57-46 with 4:52 left but didn't get any closer as the Panthers won their 28th straight home game. ... Terrell Vinson (St. Frances) came up with the ball after a scramble in the lane and banked in a basket with 0.7 of a second left Saturday night to give Massachusetts a 73-72 victory over Memphis in Boston. Vinson had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Minutemen (6-5). ... Towson's Saturday game against Hampton was postponed because of snow until today at 2 p.m. at Towson Center. ... UMBC's Saturday game at American was postponed until today at 4:30 p.m.

Women's basketball: Towson's Saturday game at UMES was postponed. No makeup date was announced. ... Mount St. Mary's game at George Washington, scheduled for today, was canceled.
