A large single-family home in the Nancy Lee Farms community near Worthington Valley Country Club in northern Baltimore County was destroyed Sunday night by a fire that required firefighters from several area stations to battle. No one was home when the fire broke in the 12600 block of Nancy Lee Court, and its cause is under investigation, said a Fire Department official. No injuries were reported among firefighters from responding career and volunteer companies. A fire official said at least 40 pieces of equipment from stations in the central, western and northern sections of the county responded and that the fire had not been declared under control at least an hour after it was first reported shortly after 9 p.m. The number of apparatus and firefighters that responded was equal to a three-alarm fire. The lack of fire hydrants required tanker trucks to draw water from nearby ponds and streams.
