Boys cross country: Coach of the Year

December 10, 2009

Dan Replogle, Winters Mill
He's been here before.

Replogle guided Francis Scott Key to a state championship in 2006 before moving over to Winters Mill the following year. Now he has earned a second state title - this time with the Falcons - and a second Coach of the Year honor.

The Falcons had several good runners this year, led by first-team All-Metro pick Eric Tringali and second-team selection Tom Carpenter. But they truly ran as a pack and didn't worry about individual accolades.

That's a big reason why Winters Mill won a second straight Carroll County title and went on to sweep their postseason races, taking the Class 2A West regional and then the state crown.
