MICA'S ART MARKET: Works by more than 250 MICA students and faculty will be available to help add some unique items to your holiday gift list. Items run the gamut, from jewelry and ceramics to illustrations, paintings, posters and wrapping paper. The sale and show take place at Leidy Atrium and Falvey Hall lobby in the Brown Center, 1301 W. Mount Royal Ave., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Dec. 12. Go to mica.edu.

TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA: If you like your Christmas songs amped up and metal-ized, you'll love what Trans-Siberian Orchestra can do to a classic tune. In this performance, 30-plus musicians perform classic and original pieces to an impressive light display at 1st Mariner Arena, 201 W. Baltimore St., at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 to $59. TOO HOT TO HANDEL: The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra presents a gospel version of Handel's holiday favorite, "Messiah," at the Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, N. Bethesda., at 8 p.m. In addition to gospel, this rocking version of the classic is infused with jazz, rock and R&B. The performance also takes place at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St., Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. Tickets are $25 to $80. Go to bsomusic.org.
