UMBC's 3-game win streak ends against Delaware, 70-61

Michelle Kurowski and Carlee Cassidy each scored 17 points, but host UMBC lost on Saturday to Delaware, 70-61, ending its three-game winning streak. The Blue Hens (3-3) held the Retrievers (4-3) to 21.9 percent shooting in the first half and built a 35-23 lead at the half. Delaware extended its lead to 39-56 with 9:07 remaining.

Other games: April McBride scored a game-high 25 points to power host UMES (1-3, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) to a 74-61 win over Delaware State (1-5, 0-1). The Hornets led by as many as nine at the 8:45 mark of the first half, before UMES outscored Delaware State 42-26, shooting 56.7 percent from the field, in the second half.... Corin Adams had 15 points in a losing effort as Morgan State (3-4) lost, 68-57, to Quinnipiac (2-3), which led 50-31 at the half.
