Philadelphia firm to prepare plan for Mount Vernon Place

December 01, 2009

The Olin Partnership, a landscape architecture and urban design firm based in Philadelphia, has been selected to prepare a master plan to guide restoration of Mount Vernon Place in Baltimore. The Mount Vernon Place Conservancy, a nonprofit formed to help protect and improve the Washington Monument on Charles Street and the four public squares around it, conducted a nationwide search before choosing Olin to come up with a vision and cost estimates for a comprehensive park restoration; the study will form the basis of a fundraising campaign that the conservancy plans to launch to pay for the work. Olin's plan is due in March of 2010. Henry H. Hopkins, former chief legal counsel for T. Rowe Price & Associates, is president of the conservancy.
