UMBC holds on to beat Bucknell, 68-63, in women's basketball

Michelle Kurowski scored 29 points as the UMBC women (3-2) withstood a second-half comeback attempt by host Bucknell (2-4) and held on to beat the Bison, 68-63, Sunday.

Kurowski, Carlee Cassidy and Katie Brooks scored all 38 first-half points for the Retrievers, who led by 13 at halftime.

Goucher 73, Penn State York 34: Shante Atkinson (Old Mill) scored 15 points, helping the Gophers (2-4) top the Lady Lions (1-3) in the consolation game of the Gallaudet Holiday Tournament.

Amber Smith (Institute of Notre Dame) finished with 13 points after a scoreless first half. Victoria Mitchell (City) had 10 points and 13 rebounds.

St. Mary's 73, Shenandoah 67: Stephanie Saint-Aubin scored 27 points and Alexis Wenger (Perry Hall) had 13 rebounds in leading the host Seahawks (1-4) over the Hornets (2-2).

Johns Hopkins 75, York 66: Lyndsay Burton had 20 points and 16 rebounds, helping the Blue Jays (3-1) past visiting York (3-3).
