•Harbor Hospital will hold a blood drive to benefit patients of the hospital and MedStar Health from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the hospital's Baum Auditorium, 3001 S. Hanover St. Call 410-350-3602 for more information or to make an appointment.

•Baltimore Washington Medical Center offers a class on preventing diabetes from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at its Joslin Diabetes Center, 300 Hospital Drive, Suite 119, Glen Burnie. $25. Registration requested (select one date only); call 410-787-4940.

•The Baltimore County Parkinson's Disease Education & Support Group meets Dec. 10 and the second Thursday of every month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Johns Hopkins at Green Spring Station Pavilion II (go through the cafe), 10753 Falls Road, Lutherville.
