State trooper hit by car during arrest in Ocean City

November 29, 2009

Maryland State Police arrested an Ocean Pines man Friday night after a state police trooper was struck with a car outside a retail business in the 9600 block of Stephen Decatur Highway. State police spokesman Greg Shipley said that Trooper Jason Grozier, 27, was treated and released from Atlantic General Hospital. Charged with assault and reckless endangerment was Waldon I. Remington III of Ocean Pines, who police say fled the scene but was later arrested. Police said the trooper was responding to a call about an unruly party and was hit by Remington's white Acura while attempting to make an arrest. Remington is being held at the Worcester County Detention Center.
