Rotary International exchange program

Individuals are being sought to participate in a Group Study Exchange Program of Rotary International by the Crofton Rotary Club. The exchange opportunity is open to men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 who have several years of experience in their full-time occupations.

The program runs May 1-29. Each team member will be provided a round-trip ticket to the host country. Local members in the area will provide meals, lodging and group travel within the Rotary district.

'Holly Ball'

The annual event conducted by the GFWC Severn Town Club will be held Friday at the Sheraton Annapolis Hotel, 173 Jennifer Road. The ball will feature cocktails, dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Music will be provided by Oracle. Proceeds will benefit Scholarship for Scholars and local charities.

Citrus sale

The Marriotts Ridge High School Music Department is holding a fruit sale to help students raise funds for their spring trip. Monthly sales will continue through February. Available in December are red grapefruit, navel oranges, tangerines and a variety pack. The deadline for orders is Friday, with a pickup date at the school, 12100 Woodford Drive in Marriottsville, on Dec. 19.

Historic house tours

The Ann Arrundell County Historical Society has opened the historic Benson-Hammond House and North Browse and Buy Shoppe at Aviation Boulevard and Andover Road in Linthicum for the season. Tours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Group tours are by appointment. The Kuethe Library for Historical and Genealogical Research, 5 Crain Highway S.E., operated jointly with the Anne Arundel Genealogical Society, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays year-round.
