Wild put disappointing Havlat on IR

November 28, 2009

The Wild placed right wing Martin Havlat and defenseman Brent Burns on injured reserve Friday.

Hampered by a hamstring injury, Havlat has been a disappointment after being signed to help make up for the loss of Marian Gaborik, who left for the Rangers. Havlat has two goals and six assists in 19 games after scoring 29 goals and leading the Blackhawks with 77 points a year ago.

Burns has been feeling the effects from a concussion and also had an illness this week.

•Oilers right wing Ales Hemsky, who has seven goals and 15 assists in 22 games, will have surgery on his left shoulder. ... Bruins left wing Milan Lucic is out again, sidelined up to four weeks with a sprained left ankle. Lucic, who missed 14 games with a fractured finger, was hurt in Wednesday's shootout victory against the Wild.
