A person familiar with the Bills' coaching search says two-time Super Bowl winner Mike Shanahan is considered a legitimate candidate to take over the job.

The source said the Bills have contacted Shanahan, who has been out of football after being fired by the Broncos last season. A message left at Shanahan's Denver office was not returned.

•Even with the addition oftight end Kevin Brock to the practice squad, the Bears should have all three tight ends on the active roster available against the Vikings. Greg Olsen, Desmond Clark and Kellen Davis are expected to practice Wednesday despite being a little banged up.

•Right tackle Winston Justice signed a four-year extension with the Eagles. ... The Bills signed veteran OL Kendall Simmons and put guard Eric Wood (broken leg) on injured reserve. ... The Packers signed ex-Broncos cornerback Josh Bell. ... ... The Panthers placed LB Landon Johnson (knee) on IR and signed Jordan Senn.

• Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has a concussion but is expected to play at Baltimore. ... Byron Leftwich's (elbow) season is over after the Buccaneers put him on IR. Tampa Bay signed QB Rudy Carpenter off Dallas' practice squad. •The NFL has moved the Minnesota at Arizona game to the night slot on Dec. 6 and switched the Patriots- Dolphins game to a noon start.
