November 22, 2009

A woman died early Saturday morning after the car she was driving went into the Inner Harbor at East Pratt Street and Market Place, a Baltimore fire official said. The woman, who was not identified, was the car's only occupant. Officials said witnesses reported the station wagon was in the pier driveway when it suddenly accelerated and drove into the harbor. The Fire Department's dive team was called about 3:30 a.m. and recovered her body around 5 a.m., the official said.
