Today's Other State Games

November 21, 2009|By MIKE KLINGAMAN

Towson (2-8) at James Madison (5-5)

Time: 3 p.m. Radio: 1570 AM

Series record: James Madison leads 15-5-1

Last meeting: James Madison won, 58-27, on Nov. 22, 2008

What's at stake: Nothing, really, unless you count Towson's five-game losing streak. Regardless of the outcome today, the Tigers, who lost their last five games last season, will finish at the bottom of the Colonial Athletic Association South for the third straight season. Morgan State (5-5) at Hampton (5-5)

When: 1 p.m. Radio: 88.9 FM

Series record: Morgan leads 35-21-2

Last meeting: Hampton won, 17-13, on Nov. 22, 2008

What's at stake: A victory would give Morgan its first winning season since 2003. But that's little consolation, given that the Bears have lost their past four games. Hampton is favored, having defeated Morgan six straight times. Also, the Pirates just shut out Florida A&M, a team that knocked off Morgan earlier.
