Branden Doughty scored 15 points and had 14 rebounds to lead Coppin State to a 72-61 victory over Washington Adventist (1-1) on Thursday night. Eddie Hayden added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (3-1), who played their final game at the Coppin Center. They will move into the Physical Education Complex on Dec. 5. Washington Adventist is the former Columbia Union.

More men's basketball: Reggie Holmes scored a career-high 30 points and Morgan State earned a 72-61 victory against visiting East Tennessee State (1-2). Holmes was 9-for-18 from the field, including 4-for-9 on 3-point attempts for the Bears (3-0). He also had three steals. Rodney Stokes added 12 points for the defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champions. ... Chris Harris had 15 points in a losing effort for Navy (1-2), which fell, 63-53, to Buffalo (1-1).

Maryland baseball: The ballpark has been renamed Shipley Field at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium to honor former Terps player Bob "Turtle" Smith, Class of 1963, and his wife, Carol B. Smith, who made what the university called a "seven-figure commitment" to support the Greatness Campaign, which provides money to athletics with the greatest need, and the "Home Run Club," which helps the baseball team.
