Mt. St. Mary's names women's lacrosse coach

Sonia LaMonica was named head women's lacrosse coach at Mount St. Mary's. LaMonica comes to the Mount after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Towson, where she helped the Tigers to a 26-12 record, two Colonial Athletic Association championships and two NCAA Division I Tournament appearances.

Women's soccer: Navy team captain Beth Reed has been named by ESPN The Magazine as Women's Soccer Academic All-American of the Year. Her teammate, Shelly Moeller, also was named to the Academic All-America team, as was Loyola's Theresa Ferraina.
