Coppin men suffer 1st loss of season, 82-58, at Colorado

Cory Higgins scored 21 points to help the host Colorado men to an 82-58 rout of Coppin State (2-1). Lenny Young's 15 points led the Eagles.

Honors: Towson senior forward Calvin Lee was named Colonial Athletic Association men's Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to an 82-71 opening season victory over Miami ( Ohio) on Friday night. Lee scored a career high 25 points on 10-for-16 from the field. ... Navy sophomore guard Jordan Sugars was named Patriot League men's Player of the Week. Sugars had 16 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to Radford; the 16 rebounds were the second most ever for a Midshipman 6 feet 3 or shorter. He scored 14 in a win over Longwood. ... Navy freshman guard Jasmine Pitts was named Patriot League women's Rookie of the Week.

Women: Clarion (2-0) shot 54 percent from the field in the second half to pull away for a 73-50 win over Bowie State (0-2). Senior Bianca Lee led the Bulldogs with 11 points. Lakisha Walker had nine.
